Mums 80 th Birthday Weekend I had to leave an honest reveiw regarding my family’s stay Friday to Sunday for my mothers 80 th birthday on the Friday 27th , we arrived on the Friday and parked in the hotels car park ajecent to the hotel and we were met by the most welcoming hotel owner who ensured we were shown to our rooms (although you’d think we were staying for a month with the luggage ),nothing was any bother to the staff who ensured our meal , birthday cake , etc went like clock work , I must give Lewis a special mention looking after us and my dog ,what a fine young man my mother was looked after and made to feel so special on her day , the meals , drinks , etc and he took time to make my mum feel so special as did all bar staff and the duty manager a huge well done to them all , we decided to eat here as the meals were delicious as was the breakfast all in all a super weekend, cannot thank you all enough I don’t often leave reveiws but felt compelled to thank everyone, the owner , manager , bar staff , restaurant staff , night caretaker , cleaners thanks to you all for making us feel so special Regards David

Holiday We had brilliant holiday staying in the George Hotel Booked for 1 week but stayed extra night . Room was lovely ,clean and comfortable . All staff amazing so helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble for them . . Breakfast brilliant and so much to choose from . Thank you all .would definetly come back again .

Great place to eat. The staff at the B&B we were staying at recommended the George for our dinners and it proved top rate. Staff were fantastic. Meals great value and well prepared. The dining area is separate from the main bar so no noisy interruptions. Good beer too, ask for the 'special'. Will be in Montrose again soon so can't wait to go there again.

Fab stay at The George Last minute booking for a family gathering, couldn’t have been more helpful. Very friendly and efficient staff, nothing too much trouble. food excellent for both evening meal and breakfast. Doggie friendly throughout the hotel, bar well decorated. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back.

Great for an overnight We stayed one night a party of 6 adults in 3 rooms. Rooms varied in size but were all clean and comfortable . Dog was made very welcome with biscuits, bed and bowl. Breakfast was freshly cooked, good quality and quantity and piping hot.

Convenient A perfectly acceptable and central hotel with convenient secured parking. The restaurant was good but even small portions are very adequate. The hotel is not modern (some good windows) so our room was quite small (but satisfactory). Good breakfast.

Restaurant meal Absolutely amazing food and service in the restaurant, consistently excellent every time, great atmosphere and comfortable setting, repeat customer guaranteed, generous portions and anything on the menu is the right choice!
